The Artist
Eli Gross
Born in Jerusalem into a Hasidic family of seventeen children, Eli Gross received an ultra-Orthodox education before spending seven years in the tech industry.

During reserve duty spanning more than 450 days with the Israeli Air Force, Gross encountered missile fragments and interceptor debris, material that would become foundational to his artistic practice.

One early sculptural work, forged from missiles fired at Israel from Iran, Gaza and Lebanon together with Iron Dome interceptor debris, changed the course of his life. He left the tech industry, dedicated himself fully to art, and founded the ARTillery studio in south Tel Aviv.
His practice fuses contemporary conflict materials with ancient Jewish symbols, exploring the intersection of war materials, personal identity, his Hasidic background and contemporary Israeli reality.
ARTillery's work has been shown in exhibitions and installations across Israel and abroad. See Exhibitions & Works for the full record.
“Every fragment has already lived one life as a weapon. My work is to give it a second life as a witness.”
